Perhaps the hardest area of entertainment to get our heads around when it comes to younger people being completely clueless is music. We just assumed everyone listens to Queen, Blondie, and ABBA, but apparently that is not the case. In fact, some people have never listened to the work of who many would consider the greatest artists of all time whatsoever.
Tim and Fred Williams are two of those people. The brothers have a YouTube channel on which they listen to and react to songs they have never heard before. The latest episode features the pair listening to Phil Collins' 'In The Air Tonight', a classic track first released all the way back in 1981.
The twins' reaction to the song's iconic drumbeats more than three minutes in is equal parts hilarious and adorable. "He said, I feel like y’all sleeping on me, let’s wake ‘em up!" and "I ain’t never seen nobody drop a beat three minutes in(to) a song!" were two of the comments Fred and Tim made after pausing the track to react to the moment in question. Honestly, that second one is something we still think about to this day.
Fred and Tim shining a spotlight on the Collins track 39 years after it was first released has given it a new lease on life. At the time of typing this, it is number three in the iTunes chart, only being bested by Cardi B's 'WAP' and 'Beers and Sunshine" by Darius Rucker. Its streaming prowess isn't so hot though, which would suggest those buying the song on iTunes are older listeners who have been reminded of the track rather than new fans like Fred and Tim.
